About Chef Shahzad
Chef Samira Shahzad is one of the leading pioneers in the culinary industry. She was born in Pakistan and honed her skills in the United Kingdom and the United States. Chef Shahzad began offering cooking classes in 1985 and writes all of her own recipes. She teaches in nearby Burr Ridge and spends part of the year in her native country.
During class, students learn how to interpret recipes and understand technical terms. Highlights include:
Learn the ins and outs of barbecue in just one class. You’ll learn time management skills and tips such as what not to add when freezing the dish. The session runs 2 1/2 hours, and is perfect for anyone looking to make healthier meals. The menu includes malai boti, chicken tikka, and beef seekh kababs.
If you want to host an unforgettable party, don’t miss the Fine Dining class. Using local, seasonal ingredients, you’ll prepare dishes to an upscale restaurant’s standards. Meals include Ethiopian chicken, spicy fettuccine, and tuna Turkish sandwiches.
Fun & Flavour
Fun & Flavour is one of the newest and most popular classes. It’s for students who want to make appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. Samira will share knife techniques and easy baking tips. The menu includes Texas cheeseburgers, onion rings, bread pudding, and more. Because of all the offerings, this session is held two hours a day for four days.
