If you’ve never enjoyed a bento box before, you’re really missing out. Bento boxes are basically the lunch boxes of Japanese cuisine. Packed with an array of dishes, from cooked veggies to seasoned meats, they’re like flavorful combination platters that will satisfy your taste buds and your appetite at lunchtime or even dinner time. And a great place to enjoy a bento box is at the new Sushi Ukai, a Japanese restaurant near Carol Stream Crossing Apartments.
About Sushi Ukai
Sushi Ukai is best described as a sophisticated, yet approachable restaurant. The dining room is graced with elegant decor, and the chef sources only the best seafood and ingredients to serve customers. Hailing from China, Dong, the head chef, learned the art of Japanese sushi making from other chefs in Manhattan, New York, and Chicago.
He also likes to add a unique Latin-inspired flair to his dishes. Dong is often present in the dining room, greeting guests and asking for their opinions of his creations.
Some sushi restaurants only offer one bento box option, or they may only offer bento boxes during certain lunch hours. But Sushi Ukai offers bento boxes with your choice of entrees, including chicken, steak, salmon, and veggie. The box comes with California rolls, tempura vegetables, white rice, and plenty of soy sauce for dipping. Guests especially love the teriyaki chicken, which is tender and sweet.
Other Menu Options
Of course, if you are not in the mood for a bento box, Sushi Ukai offers many other delicious selections. From hand rolls to sashimi, their sushi selection is extensive. Guests also love the noodle dishes, such as Dan Dan Noodle, a creation made with scallions, ground pork, and hot chilies over a bed of egg noodles.
